Dear Colleague,

1. SOUTH AFRICA: NATIONAL ELECTIONS

The date of the 2024 National elections will be announced shortly. As believers and followers of Jesus Christ, we find ourselves woven into the very fabric of society, called to be the salt and light that Christ spoke of in Matthew 5:13-16.

As Christians, we are not merely observers but active contributors to the shaping of the world around us. Voting is not just a civic duty; it is a practical expression of our faith. Our Lord encourages us to engage with the world, to bring about positive change, and to be instruments of His love and justice.

The Bible teaches us the importance of seeking the welfare of the city where God has placed us (Jeremiah 29:7). By participating in the national elections in our country, we contribute to the decision-making processes that impact the very communities we live in. Our voices matter, and through our votes, we have the opportunity to align our values with policies that promote justice, compassion, and the well-being of all the people of our beloved country.

The Apostle Paul urged the early Christians to pray for those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Voting is a tangible extension of our prayers, as it enables us to choose leaders who will govern with integrity, uphold moral principles, and take our country forward. In this pivotal moment, let us rise to vote, motivated by our shared faith and the desire to see Godly principles reflected in our nation’s leadership. I am not telling you who to vote for, but I am encouraging you to make sure that you dó vote.

Let us be a beacon of light in the democratic process, shining forth the love of Christ and contributing to a society that reflects His grace and truth.

2. UP4SA: UNITED PRAYER FOR SOUTH AFRICA

Volunteer as a Prayer Point Coordinator in your Community

There is no better time than the present to collectively and continuously intercede with petitions and prayers for our beautiful country – even more so, with the national elections scheduled for 2024. We praise the Lord for every prayer network and intercessor in our nation! It is furthermore a crucial time for the local body of Christ to rise and “to be the change”.

Our 2024 prayer session will be a 60-minute session in any suitable hour slot over the weekend of 23-25 February. In previous years we had approximately 250+ Prayer Points across South Africa and abroad. Our aim is for communities to gather at suitable venues for grassroots commUNITY prayer. We trust the Lord for a prayer point in every town/community in South Africa.

Prospect area coordinators can volunteer by sending an email to admin@up4sa.co.za, WhatsApp Pastor Robbie Black directly or sending a WhatsApp to our Up4SA national administrator, Andriette at 073 899 2323. Let us stand together and pray!

2. NOB EMPOWERMENT VISITS

Fan into Flame the Gift of God!

We are looking forward to visiting and spending time in ministry and impartation with Regional Pastors, Assembly Leaders, Governing Body Members, Departments and Members during the Regional Empowerment Visits. The Theme for 2024 is: Fan into Flame the Gift of God!

The NOB felt led to continue the focus on who we are and how we must live as Holy Spirit-filled people and church in 2024. This time around with the focus on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Based on 2 Timothy 1: 6: “Fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you. (NIV)” and “Stir up the gift of God which is in you. (NKJV)” We will share on the spiritual gifts, sound teaching, our testimony and unity.

Kindly take note that the dates and venues of the 2024 NOB Empowerment Visits have been confirmed:

The Programme for Friday and Saturday is also available from our website: https://afm-ags.org/category/events/
