1. A MONTH OF PRAYER & FASTING
As we approach the end of our prayer and fasting month for January 2022, I want to remind you that prayer (and fasting) is not something we do or just focus on for one month of every year: As believers, we believe in the power of the spiritual disciplines of prayer and fasting – to touch God and to transform us as human beings.Prayer and fasting do not help us to gain more of God’s acceptance or love. We already have that. It assists us to focus better on God and to broaden our understanding of His vision and plan for our lives. It also helps us to hear His voice better. Prayer and fasting remind me of the words of David in 2 Samuel 22:21 (The Message): “God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before Him.”

May we continue to place the pieces of everything that is unresolved or broken in our own lives and in our communities before God in prayer. One of our best actions in the current time of uncertainty is to focus on and continue to grow in our regular practice of prayer and fasting.
2. STRATEGIC INTENT
The newly-elected National Office Bearers (NOB) spent a few days at the beginning of January 2022 to focus on defining our strategic intent for the current term. We will be sharing that, as well as the accompanying goals and action steps to turn it into reality with you shortly.
3. 2022 NOB EMPOWERMENT VISITS
The National Office Bearers (NOB) are looking forward to once again being able to meet in person with our Pastors, Governing Body Members, Departments, Assembly Representatives and Youth, during the Regional NOB Empowerment for 2022. This year we will be sharing on the theme of Stewardship to which we are all called as believers and servants of God. Stewardship is also an important part of our Missional Strategy under the focus area of Governance.

God willing, we will be at the following venues on the following dates:
04-05 February: Cape (AFM Bellville) & Free State (AFM Jubilate, Bloemfontein).
18-19 February: Kwazulu-Natal (Amanzimtoti).
03-05 March: Limpopo (AFM Taberna Dei Mother Assembly) & Mpumalanga (Communio Nelspruit).
08-09 April: Gauteng (AGS Herlewingsentrum, Pretoria) & North-West (AFM Oase, Klerksdorp).
20-21 May: Northern Cape (AFM Rehobot, Upington) & Eastern Cape (Gees en Lewe, East London).
4. NATIONAL CHILDREN’S MINISTRY: UPDATES
Dear beloved in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
Resumption Of Children’s Ministry Activities and Election Of Regional Ministry Structures
It has been more than 20 months since we were hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and the activities of the Children’s Ministry were severely disrupted in our structures and assemblies. In this regard, I direct that all Children’s Ministry activities resume with immediate effect in all the structures and assemblies – under strict Covid-19 protocols and regulations. Some assemblies have done well in ensuring that the spiritual needs of the children are taken care of and carried on with regional activities. However, there are still places where Children’s Ministry activities are suspended for no reason. I, therefore, encourage and urge all of us to resume Children’s Ministry activities with immediate effect.
I take it that by now all Children’s Ministry Regional Committees have been elected and are in place. If not, kindly do so before the end of February 2022 in preparation for the NCM Elective Conference on 19 March 2022.
