Dear AFM Colleague,

1. UP4SA NATIONAL PRAYER INITIATIVE

It is not necessary to mention that South Africa is experiencing challenges on many levels. The Covid-19 pandemic has only intensified or accelerated these challenges to a higher level of urgency. The main responsibility of Christians is to pray earnestly and faithfully to God.

The UP4SA is a National Prayer Initiative that is running for its 6th year. We invite all AFM congregations to join this prayer action on Sunday, 28 March 2021 which will be broadcasted on Wild Coast FM 98.6 FM (www.wildcoastfm.co.za) between 7h00 and 8h00. One representative from all 9 our provinces will lead in prayer. The programme will also include a 10-minute encouragement and prayer session lead by Angus Buchan.

I want to encourage you to register your AFM Assembly with the UP4SA Prayer Initiative by sending a message to:

2. GBM UPDATE (14-18 MARCH WILL NOT MATERIALISE)

The tentative GBM dates of 14-18 March 2021 will not materialise. Specific dates cannot be confirmed at this stage but will be communicated as soon as possible and depends on Covid-19 developments.

Delegates are however welcome to register. The venue remains AFM Word and Life Church in Boksburg. Registration for the event (although a specific date cannot be confirmed at this stage) can be done online:

3. 2021 NOB EMPOWERMENT VISITS: NOTICE

Kindly take note that due to the current Lockdown Level 3 restrictions, the scheduled NOB Empowerment Visits for the weekend of 5-6 March 2021 (Mpumalanga & Limpopo) are postponed until further notice. The rest of the NOB Empowerment dates for the year remain the same also until further notice.

4. AFM WELFARE: STATIONERY DRIVE

Our Welfare Department urgently requires stationery supplies for the 2021 academic school year. Can I ask if, in any way possible, your assembly can reach out and donate? Any of the following stationery items can be donated: pencil cases, blue pens, HB pencils, coloured pencils (Norris Club), rulers, erasers, sharpeners, scissors, glue, highlighters, flip files, notepads and oil pastels. There is also a need for lunchboxes.

Old and new stationery supplies/items can be dropped off at:

  • An AFM Welfare Children’s Home (CYCC) in your area. Send a WhatsApp message to AFM Welfare to locate your nearest AFM Children’s Home (CYCC): +27 72 376 7453 or download a list of all homes from the following link: Child and Youth Care Centres
  • The AFM Welfare National Office: Unit 5, Central Office Park, 257 Jean Avenue, Centurion.
