1. MY PRAYER FOR THE YOUTH
As we are approaching the end of Youth Month (June) 2022, my prayer for our youth is found in the words of Psalm 144:12 (ESV): “May our sons in their youth be like plants full grown, our daughters like corner pillars cut for the structure of a palace.”
The writer talks about our young men being nurtured like vigorous growing trees, grown tall beyond their age. They should be strong, vigorous and productive early in their life. Our young women should be like carefully cut corner pillars, not only graceful and beautiful – but strong, carrying and tying together the structures of society as depicted by the image of a palace or a temple. They should be women of strength and resilience. In short: Our young people should be empowered to make a tangible difference in our South African society and all its diversity.
All of us can play a role in empowering our young people. You can do so by really reaching out to a young person in your circle of influence. Be that at work, in your community, your church or in your home. Start by being present, by caring and by listening. If you are a young person: Make every effort to learn, and to be exposed to growth opportunities.
We bless the AFM National Youth Conference taking place from 24-26 June 2022 in the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre, Kimberley. The theme is: Empowered!
2. AN INVITATION TO THE 2022 GBM & CONFERENCE
The 2022 GBM and Conference are scheduled to take place from 18-21 September 2022 at AFM Word and Life in Boksburg, Gauteng. The theme of the Conference is Trust in God: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV).
