Dear Colleague,
1. APPRECIATION TO PASTORS AND THEIR FAMILIES
The month of October is known as Pastors Appreciation Month. It is a special time that has been set aside for the AFM of SA congregations and other statutory bodies to honor their pastors or assembly leaders as well as their spouses and children. Our appreciation is for their hard and sacrificial work and multiple blessings that they provide.
Allow me to take this time to express my deepest appreciation to all AFM pastors, assembly leaders, their spouses and children for what you are doing for both the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa and God’s Kingdom. Our Chief Shepherd and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has entrusted upon you one of the most delicate and most precious of assignments – the spiritual well-being of His flock. Many of you are serving in ministry under incredible pressures mostly created by unrealistic expectations. You are expected to have ideal families, to be perfect people, to always be available, to never be down and to have all the answers that your members need to keep their lives stable and moving forward.
The same can be said with regard to those who serve on a full-time basis in the AFM in other structures beyond the congregation. In this case I am specifically referring to those that are serving the church at Regional and National structures. You fulfill these responsibilities in addition to other work that you do. Most of you fulfill this added role without any renumeration.
My prayer for you and your family is similar to the one John prayed for Gaius who was given a hard time by Diotrephes:
2. PCD WORKSHOPS AT THE 2018 GBM
Pastors who attended the PCD Workshops at the recent General Business Meeting (GBM) received stickers for the workshops that they participated in. These stickers must be pasted in your PCD log-sheets. In this way you will be able to receive the credits. If you didn’t receive these stickers or maybe you lost them, you are welcome to contact the National PCD Co-ordinator, Dr Henri Weideman during Office Hours at 012 644 0490. I trust that these workshops added value to all who attended.
