1. CONTINUOUS & INTENTIONAL PRAYER FOR SOUTH AFRICA
I am aware of different matters of concern relating to the safety, stability and future growth of our beloved country South Africa. I am calling on all our Pastors to make the future of South Africa, especially in terms of our national political and governance context, as well as national safety and security, a matter of urgent and continuous prayer – both in your personal life, as well as in the prayers of your local assembly.
This is not about any political party philosophy or -agenda, but about the future growth and stability of our country. Regardless of our political beliefs, all of us want the same things: good governance, jobs, basic services and safety. As a church and as Christians we must speak on every platform about our expectations of a country governed with integrity, honesty and in the best interest of all its people. We must be vocal against any form of corruption and pray for the peace and prosperity of South Africa.
I echo the words of Paul in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (ESV) where he said: “I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.”
2. EMPOWERMENT OF REGIONAL LEADERS
During the week of 7 February 2022, the National Office Bearers (NOB) started with the annual empowerment of our Regional- and Departmental Leaders. We will be doing so in Gauteng, Cape Town and Durban respectively. The President and Deputy President will be engaging the Regional- and Departmental leaders on the issue of “Leadership in Uncertain Times”. The General Secretary and General Treasurer will be spending time with the Regional Secretaries, Administrators and Treasurers on important matters regarding their responsibilities on a Regional- and Assembly level.
We trust that the issues addressed, and the material made available will also be used by the Regional Office Bearers and -Committees to empower the Pastors and Governing Body representatives in their respective Regions. The purpose is to empower and enable our Regional and local structures to lead and govern with competence and integrity, whilst upholding the testimony and good name of the AFM.

The National Office Bearers (NOB) are looking forward to once again being able to meet in person with our Pastors, Governing Body Members, Departments, Assembly Representatives and Youth, during the Regional NOB Empowerment for 2022. This year we will be sharing on the theme of Stewardship to which we are all called as believers and servants of God. Stewardship is also an important part of our Missional Strategy under the focus area of Governance.
