RESOURCES / IZINSIZA
LOVE ROOTED IN FAITH
Love is at the heart of every meaningful relationship and every healthy family, and it is something we learn and practise daily, not just on special occasions.
Around this time of year, when hearts, flowers, and cards remind us of love in simple ways, it is good to pause and reflect on what love really means. From a Christian perspective, love is more than a feeling; it is a choice to care, to listen, to forgive, and to stay committed, even when it is not easy.
Healthy relationships are built when people treat one another with respect, patience, and kindness, following the example of Christ’s selfless love for us. In families, love creates a safe space where children are valued, spouses support one another, and differences are handled with grace rather than anger.
Strong families do not happen by accident; they grow when time is invested, words are spoken with care, and hearts remain open to God’s guidance. Whether between husband and wife, parents and children, or within the wider family.
Love flourishes when it is rooted in faith, expressed through everyday actions, and strengthenedby prayer. In this way, love becomes more than a moment of emotion - it becomes a way of life.

PREVENTING TEEN SUICIDE IN OUR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES
Teen suicide is a serious issue that affects families, schools, and communities everywhere. Many teenagers struggle silently with pressure, loneliness, anxiety, or feeling misunderstood.
Suicide prevention starts with awareness and care. It means paying attention to changes in mood or behaviour, listening without judging, and taking young people’s feelings seriously. Simple things like asking “Are you okay?”, making time to talk, and showing genuine concern can make a big difference.
Teenagers need to know they are not alone, and that help is available. When families, friends, teachers, and communities work together to create safe spaces and offer support, hope can be restored, and lives can be saved.
